The call for nominations for the 2021 UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education is now open.

Do you know any person or organization that carries out educational projects destined to empower girls and women? Their work, in times when the world is fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, is more important than ever.

Funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education grants US $50,000 to each of two projects or programs selected. The Director of the UNESCO Regional Chair on Women, Science and Technology on Latin America, Dr. Gloria Bonder, will be a part of the international jury this year.

This initiative is intended to further projects so they can continue to provide girls and women with the education they require.

Interested candidates who meet the selection criteria, and wish to participate, are invited to contact the permanent delegations to UNESCO, the National Commissions for UNESCO or non-governmental organizations in each country that are officially collaborating with UNESCO.

The deadline for submitting applications is May 26, 2020
