INSPIRE is a 4-year project, launched in October 2022, supported by Horizon Europe.
It brings together experts and professionals from 14 institutions from Europe, including: Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), JOANNEUM RESEARCH; Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark; Uniwersytet Jagielloński; Universiteit Hasselt; ZRC SAZU; GESIS – Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften; Innosystems.
Latin America is represented in this project by the UNESCO Regional Chair Women, Science and Technology in Latin America, based at FLACSO Argentina. Through the coordination of a Community of Practice (CoP) integrated by different universities and research centers in this region, it purpose is to to promote the design and strengthen the implementation and evaluation of gender equality plans in these institutions.
INSIPIRE brings together cutting-edge knowledge, ambitious policy approaches, and innovative practices to provide a gateway for scholars, equality experts, practitioners and trainers to connect with institutions and policymakers working for institutional change.
Based on the principles of inclusivity and intersectionality, INSPIRE’s aim is to create an European Center of Excellence in Gender Equality in research and innovation, globally renowned for the quality of its research and collaboration with higher education institutions and research centers.
It embraces ambitious and main challenging and thematic areas:
- Strengthen and deepen the institutional transformations driven by existing and upcoming gender equality plans.
- Widen their impact and scope in these institutions.
- Integrate the intersectional approach to these plans.
- Promote gender sensitive innovation communities and policies in the private sector.
