Gloria Bonder, coordinator of the UNESCO Regional Chair, Women, Science and Technology in Latin America, made a presentation at the event “Re-Connecting Human Capital with the Discourse of Digital Transformation to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals”. It was organized by the World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) on its 20th anniversary.
The presentation was entitled “Towards gender equality in Science and Technology: Research findings, innovative educational programs and policies in Higher Education in Latin America”. The presentation offered a general analysis of the main problems under study, its most prevalent theoretical interpretations and the orientations for action that directly or indirectly arise from its findings. In particular, it shared initiatives developed by the UNESCO Regional Chair Women, Science and Technology in Latin America, which address gender equality in S&T both in education (STEAM programs with a gender equality approach) and in programs and policies at higher education institutions (ACT on Gender – INSPIRE projects).
